Featuring Lucien Dubuis, the Swiss sharp and active bass clarinetist, Scope combines many natural desires, idioms, approaches and grooves. What I always like is when music (and particularly the jazz files area) takes me further & beyond what the sum of its ingredients should. Here it fully works, each of the players brings his voice and presence into the common melting pot, pretty rare. Paradoxically maybe, but trying to open up the dusty jazz box, they actually extract the best of it. Beautiful.
