Talking Revival? Dig swing and Broadway Repertoire? Like Guitar á la good old daddy striking the strings up and down? Here you are, her Majesty is served twice. Pizzarelli Junior (John is the son of Bucky P. known by most of the jazz and beyond aficionados as one of the top session and jazz player since the mid 50’s, he’s appeared on half a dozen million albums from Benny Goodman to Stephane Grappelli and a long list of pop, soundtracks and Rock) is here at his best. Sings, and Blows solos in between, often does both at once. The album is a grape of timeless standards and gets us to hear Bucky doing his best Freddie Green as well as Larry Goldings in the role of Organists such as Milt Buckner or Wild Bill Davis, all old style guaranteed. It’s all so beautifully played and totally dedicated, plus, and via his Father, you could say crafted by hands years after years in the living room after the meal. Five stars. Good music has no age.
