This music is very close to a perfect re-reading of those days, though precisely because of that, it sort of misses all the edge parts you could find in the 70’s with the like of Harvey Mason, Eric Gale, Hank Crawford, Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Abe Laboriel or even Keith Jarrett’s groups which here is never far away under Brodeck’s fingers.
