Chet? Did you really had to go when you did? It was a Friday 13th (of course), May 1988. I will never forget it, I had seen you the week before with Philip and Riccardo in Paris (Oliver and Micheline were there too). »In Chicago« is an unreleased Studio Recording, but I think this appellation needs a little explanation to younger audience: It isn’t exactly an album, but some proper session. Chet did record all the time, anywhere, often for the most concrete scratch cash reasons. Get something to pass the week, carry on the week, depart from where he landed. »Legacy« is the correct term here I guess, it belongs to some sort of legacy and people like him deserve this collectable archival approach, plus it\’s made and issued in a totally decent respectful way by Enja (who did release more than many albums during Chet’s lifetime). You just should know what you want to start with or listen to before getting to the shops. Always a pleasure and an emotion for me.
