If there’s any reference to this beautiful new Jim Black album (the classic piano trio format with double-bass), it’s of course the Keith Jarrett’s early ones (Charlie Haden, Paul Motian). I can’t tell how consciously it has been decided, but to me Jim’s playing here often sounds as a personal re-reading of that music. But…
