Als Special Guests haben wir unsere friends Bosna, EsRap, Therese Terror und Saratonin eingeladen – kommt früh und tanzt lange, es wird wild!

Schlagzeug, Gitarre, Loops und lakonischer Gesang vereinen sich bei Bosna zu einer stellenweise an Sonic Youth erinnernden, psychedelischen Auslegung spröder Post-Punk-Rock-Ästhetik. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Pete Prison IV (Mekongg) und Sticky Lenz (Just Friends And Lovers, Lonesome Hot Dudes, Lime Crush) hatte sich im Verlauf der letzten Jahre (bis zur Zwangspause) in Gigs zwischen Tel Aviv, Wien, Graz, Salzburg und Wolfsberg konsolidiert. Dementsprechend klingt Bosnas 2021 bei Numavi erschienenes Mini-Album „You Know Too Much“ über weite Strecken nach einem kontrollierten, semi-improvisierten Jam, durchsetzt von kreiselnden Gitarren-Hooks und durchbrochen von antithetischen Unisono-Breaks.
Wer auf die im Hall- und Echo-saturierten Sound oft halb verborgenen, englischsprachigen Texte achtet, wird mitkriegen, dass dabei ohne jeden demonstrativen Belehrungsgestus allerhand Beobachtungen aus dem queeren Alltag zur Sprache kommen. „Birds full of lust / Rustling trees above / Hey but when we kiss do you see people turn around?“, heißt es etwa in „Crunchy Lips“. Im Sprechgesang von „Tanzverbot“ wiederum ist von männlichen Freunden zu hören, die sich für große Feministen halten, aber „they never stand up for me.“ Ein seltener Moment, in dem Bosna uns ihre Botschaft einmal nicht sondern auf hypnotische Art einflößen, sondern direkt aufs Ohr drücken. So oder so, sie kommt an.

EsRAP haben sich durch ihre Veröffentlichungen und Konzerte in den letzten Jahren zu einem Role-Model österreichischer widerständiger Pop-Kunst mit migrantischem Hintergrund entwickelt und genießen dementsprechend mediale Aufmerksamkeit.

Sie ist Resident in der Grelle Forelle mit ihrer Reihe “Reign of Terror”, die sich sowohl Pionieren der elektronischen Musik als auch Newcomer*innen innerhalb der lokalen Szene widmet. Ihre DJ-Sets reichen von Techno, treibendem Acid, Trance und Leftfield Electronica bis hin zu Pop bis hin zu Pop-Hymnen; temporeich und voller Referenzen an verschiedene Epochen der elektronischen Musik.

Saratonin legt mit CDJs Ghetto Trash auf und haut euch von den Socken. Ironisch mit coolem Blick spielt sie für queeres Publikum.

Schapka ist eine Flinta-Band, die im Teenageralter miteinander zu spielen begonnen haben und sie sind eine extrem gut funktionierende Live-Band: Es wird geschrien, gelacht, es werden Späße gemacht. All das passiert unapologetic, ohne sich für einen falschen Ton, eine holprige Ansage je geschämt zu haben. Schapka erreicht seit 10 Jahren durch die klaren Songinhalte und witzigen Performances große Menschenmengen vor Bühnen wie dem Popfest und der Arena in Wien, dem Lila Festival in der Schweiz oder dem Orpheum in Graz. Das kommende Album “Schall Bumm” wird weiterhin politische Themen behandeln, die bisher kaum besungen wurden. Denn selten besingen Frauen Squirt-Ejakulat und einen Aufruf, Sexarbeit als normale Arbeit zu betrachten auf eine so scharfe, gleichzeitig zugängliche Art. Es geht um Feminismus, Pop, Queer-sein und Körperflüssigkeiten. Zusammengefasst: Sehr junge selbstbewusste Musiker*innen, ein nicht hierarchischer Zugang innerhalb der Band und mit dem Publikum. Provokante und tabuisierte feministische Themen.

Im Verein Autonome Österreichische Frauenhäuser sind aktuell 13 autonome Frauenhäuser (bis Ende Juni 2021 15 Frauenhäuser) vernetzt. Sie sind mit dem Logo des Vereins gekennzeichnet. Insgesamt gibt es 29 Frauenhäuser in Österreich.

Drums, guitar, loops and laconic vocals combine in Bosna to create a psychedelic interpretation of brittle post-punk rock aesthetics reminiscent of Sonic Youth in places. The collaboration between Pete Prison IV (Mekongg) and Sticky Lenz (Just Friends And Lovers, Lonesome Hot Dudes, Lime Crush) had consolidated over the course of the last few years (until the forced break) in gigs between Tel Aviv, Vienna, Graz, Salzburg and Wolfsberg. Accordingly, Bosna’s 2021 mini-album „You Know Too Much,“ released on Numavi, sounds for long stretches like a controlled, semi-improvised jam, interspersed with gyrating guitar hooks and punctuated by antithetical unison breaks.
If you pay attention to the English-language lyrics, which are often half-hidden in the reverb- and echo-saturated sound, you’ll notice that all kinds of observations from queer everyday life are brought up without any demonstrative lecturing gesture. „Birds full of lust / Rustling trees above / Hey but when we kiss do you see people turn around?“ reads „Crunchy Lips,“ for example. In turn, the chanting of „Tanzverbot“ features male friends who think they’re great feminists, but „they never stand up for me.“ It’s a rare moment when, for once, Bosna don’t instill their message in us in a hypnotic way, but rather press it directly on our ears. Schapka is a flinta band who started playing with each other in their teens and they are an extremely well-functioning live band: there’s screaming, there’s laughing, there’s joking. All this happens unapologetically, without ever being ashamed of a wrong note, a bumpy announcement. Schapka has been reaching large crowds in front of stages like the Popfest and the Arena in Vienna, the Lila Festival in Switzerland or the Orpheum in Graz for 10 years due to the clear song content and witty performances. The upcoming album „Schall Bumm“ will continue to deal with political topics that have hardly been sung about so far. Because rarely do women sing about squirt ejaculate and a call to consider sex work as normal work in such a sharp, at the same time accessible way. It’s about feminism, pop, queer-ness and bodily fluids. In summary: Very young self-confident musicians*, a non-hierarchical approach within the band and with the audience. Provocative and taboo feminist topics.

Women’s shelters offer women who experience violence by their partner or husband and their children a safe place to live. Women’s shelters are open to all victims of violence, regardless of nationality, income or religion.
Currently, 15 autonomous women’s shelters are networked in the Autonomous Austrian Women’s Shelters Association. In total, there are 29 women’s shelters in Austria.
