Anna Prokopová: movement/dance, Vienna
Nemanja Tasić: acoustic sound/percussion, Novi Sad
Zsolt Polgar: camera, Novi Sad
Performance and video „outer state“ is the result of the joint creative process of Anna Prokopova and Nemanja Tasić, which was realized in October 2023 and produced by kuda.org as part of the NOISM program. Promotion of the program NOISM run by kuda.org from Novi Sad (1255 km of Danube) is aimed at developing the conditions for new production in contemporary improvised practice in the long-term process of interaction between artists, performers and musicians. outer state intertwines the resonance of light acoustic sound, deep beats of drums and transforms dance movements into a journey beyond the complex landscapes of the mental system. Like connective tissue, these elements weave through the social sphere, creating a shared experience that transcends individuality. Each movement detail reflects the intimacy yet vastness of space, showing the flow of emotions and textures seen and unseen.
Anna Prokopová, Vienna. She studied philosophy, Czech literature and contemporary dance. Active as a choreographer, performer and dance teacher. For her, working with sound, text and imaginary anatomy opens up new realms of performativity.
Nemanja Tasić, musician/percussionist, Novi Sad. He has gained rich experience in playing with different lineups and genres. In the last few years, he has only been interested for the freshness in playing that comes through complete improvisation and spontaneity.
Eden/Loriot/Tantanozi
The trio of Philipp Eden (piano), Frantz Loriot (viola) and Marina Tantanozi (flutes) got together for the first time in 2021 in Zürich. In regular rehearsals at the Rote Fabrik, they soon created a playground, characterized by trust, openness, curiosity and an allover ease. Through an ongoing improvisational practice, they explore the intensity of sound as a gesture in a solely acoustic context; a gesture informed by the awareness of space, silence and the physicality of sound. They allow the music to stay open, overflowing and blurring their own lines in a rich opacity, moving and evolving constantly and unexpectedly. The trio has toured in Switzerland and Portugal, and recently performed at the “Maison de l’île de France” in Paris, receiving very positive critics from the local scene.
Philipp Eden is a musician (piano, electronics, drums), improviser and curator based in Basel, Switzerland. His work, whether music-related or curatorial, is motivated by the intent to create synergetic exchanges between individuals and communities. A central aspect in his artistic practice is improvisation; as an attitude towards life at large and music in particular – cultivating mindfulness, spontaneity and openness, and paving the way for connection. Although his music draws inspiration from a variety of sources, it’s the outer fringes, where genre delineations dissolve completely, that interest him most. Philipp is a founding member of the Zürich-based collective Gamut. Under their umbrella, he co-curates the concert series STUENZI at the Rote Fabrik and works at the collective’s label edition gamut. Over the years, he collaborated with artists such as: Andria Nicodemou, Bernd Konrad, Christian Weber, Dave Gisler, David Meier, Dominique Girod, Evelinn Trouble, Klara Germanier, Lotus-Eddé Khouri, Marina Tantanozi, Stefan Schönegg, Tobias Meier, Vincent Glanzmann. philippeden.net
French-Japanese violist Frantz Loriot performs as soloist and is active in several international collective ensembles, working mainly through improvised music practices. He often contributes to interdisciplinary projects related to dance, theater, image and poetry and has been reflecting, for some years, on the relationship between his own practice and philosophical and political theories. Loriot performs regularly throughout the world (Europe, USA, South America, Japan and the Middle East) and has been invited as artist-in-residence by various festivals, venues and ensembles (Météo Mulhouse Music festival, Moods, Ensemble Musica Nova and others). After living in Paris and New York City, Frantz Loriot settled in Zürich (Switzerland). frantzloriot.com
