Kimyan Law

Kimyan Law is a musician and producer, who started making music using instruments improvised from various everyday objects at a very young age. Deep explorations into his Congolese roots have led him to create complex mosaics of ancient sound with modern aesthetics. Having its roots in Drum & Bass, the music flies far beyond the confines of that often-formulaic genre, expanding sonic ranges and disrupting standard arrangements.

With three critically acclaimed albums under his belt, Kimyan Law has founded his own, brand new label, [ + + + ] (spoken Plus Plus Plus Music) on which he started to release his fourth long-player in form of EPs, through which he tells a story over the course of the year: the Emblem Of Peace. Four tribes, four clouds of sound, four colours and four EPs to represent them. To inaugurate and celebrate the first physical release of his newly founded label, Kimyan Law presents his brand new Live-Show. A journey through the auditory landscapes of the Emblem of Peace. In addition to the freshly released double vinyl, the congolese-austrian multidisciplinary artist published his debut short film, titled ‚Kimyan Law – Uaminifu [Short Film]‘ which depicts Kimyan’s world and its people, their language, and the natural environments they live in.
