Queer Crisp starring live: Josh Fur. He was born in London, UK and has been living and working in Vienna for over 14 years. He is a singer/songwriter/performer, who has performed all over Europe in various groups, including DNTT fire circus, solo concerts, and performance art pieces. Josh’s solo songs both indulge in and at the same time twist the seemingly harmless nature of mainstream music. Think of Take That featuring Britney Spears put through a voice altering machine owned by the legendary Klaus Nomi and a smiling Velvet Underground.
After a two year break from performing, Josh Fur is back to sing, croon, complain, and rap. Accompanying himself on toy keyboards, Nintendo Switch, mobile phone, backing tracks, and drum machine, Josh’s new songs deal with our linked absurd lives, popular themes and memes of 2018: “Giving up books because watching YouTube is easier”, “your inner child is stupid”, and “paying someone to look where you’re going so you can look at your mobile phone in safety”.
