glupsk & Jakob Sulik | Die Balloonmädchen

Glupsk is an abstract musical trio consisting of Vilhjálmur Yngvi Hjálmasson, Örlygur Steinar Arnalds and Guðmundur Arnalds, based in Reykjavik, Iceland. The trio grant themselves the freedom to explore whatever concepts, genres, or sounds that interest them at each moment. Glupsk ranges from making obscure electronic live-sets to being a experimental rock band with influences from doom-metal, no-wave and noise. Glupsk frequently collaborate with other musicians and artists, their latest album “Beyond Happy” was made with Sigtryggur Berg Sigmarsson and released at Superpang. Glupsk and Jakub Šulík will be performing together following their previous collaboration in 2021 with the focus on improvisation.

Die Ballonmädchen Gobi Drab and Michael Zacherl transform the abstracted sounds and textures of balloons into a unique performance. Gobi Drab, utilizing her voice and recorders, modifies their sonic appearance, capturing their fragility, sensitivity, and wide range of sounds. Michael Zacherl, performing on his DIY instrument, adds layers of organic-sounding electronics, creating a detailed performance. Together, they engage in playful interaction, inviting the audience on a captivating acoustic journey.
