Filmscreening: „Ein Fenster zum Fluss“ (Natascha Muhic und Francesca Centonze, 2021, 28 min)

Eine Besonderheit des Wiener Donauufers sind die sogenannten Daubel-Fischerboote, im Jargon Krandaubeln genannt. Diese sind zwar kaum bekannt, prägen jedoch die Landschaft, da rund 80 Schwimmplattformen mit Krandaubel entlang der Donau im gesamten Stadtgebiet zu finden sind. Der Dokumentarfilm erzählt die Geschichte der Krandaubel-Fischerei, die eine lange Tradition in Wien hat, sowie die kulturelle und historische Bedeutung der Donau.

Im Anschluss an den Film präsentieren Musiker*innen unter dem Dach der Museums-Tankstelle ihre Interpretation des Donauwalzers in einer erweiterten Live-Version. Außerdem feiern wir die Veröffentlichung der „Donauwalzer Tapes“ an diesem Abend!

Film Screening: “A Window to the River” (Natascha Muhic und Francesca Centonze, 2021, 28 min)

A special feature of the Vienna Danube waterfront is the so-called Daubel fishing boats, commonly referred to as Krandaubeln. While they are not very well known, they significantly shape the landscape, with around 80 floating platforms featuring Krandaubeln visible along the Danube throughout the city. The documentary film tells the story of Krandaubel fishing, which has a long tradition in Vienna, as well as the cultural and historical significance of the Danube.

Following the film, musicians will present their interpretation of the Danube Waltz in an extended live version under the roof of the Museums-Tankstelle. Additionally, the “Danube Waltz Tape” will be released that evening!
