Молчат дома (Molchat Doma) + The Damski

3. Februar 2020, 20:30 - 23:30

First time in Vienna for Molchat Doma, this special act from the city of Minsk. After selling out clubs from Berlin to Israel the trio is back in 2020 for a long UK/EU Tour. Directly from Youtube to Venster99. Molchat Doma (translated as “Silent Houses”), founded in 2017 in Minsk, Belarus, stands at the intersection of post-punk, new-wave and synth-pop. Dark yet danceable, and with a heavy dose of goth ethos, their music is reminiscent of the masters that predate them, but make no mistake: Molchat Doma creates a sound and meaning that is immediately recognizable as all their own. The band is comprised of Egor Shkutko, who sings the Russian lyrics in his deep monotone, Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synths, and drum machine, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synths. Their second LP, Этажи (pronounced Etazhi, meaning “Floors”) was released in 2018 on Berlin-based Detriti Records. It has sold out four times and is currently on its fifth repressing due to outstanding demand. Этажи has garnered over one million views.
Even better live. Come dance.

The Damski is the new solo project of Theresa Adamski, a familiar face of Vienna’s dark & weird underground section, most well known for playing and singing in faboulous bands like Crystal Soda Cream and Lady Lynch. The Damski takes the whole thing a little further into the area where synthpop and wave are melted into something unique. The first live appearences and the freshly released split with Terz Nervosa have already shown how beautiful this is.
