Staring Mountains delves into two pivotal revolutions of the 21st Century: one in southern Mexico led by the Zapatistas, alongside other organized indigenous communities, and the other in northeastern Syria through the revolutionary efforts of Kurds and Arabs in Rojava. Our exploration of these revolutions primarily revolves around captivating narratives that emerge from the mountains and the autonomous political ways of organization.

After the program presentations in the UK, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece, SlumilCinko Collective will present their activities in the cultural center of Alte Mensa in the organization of 4lthangrund with a journalist photo exhibition, artist talks, documentary films, book presentation, lectures and participatory workshops in newly reorganized Galerie Utopia.

The SlumilCinko Collective: Mauricio Centurión, Lorena Salamanca, Abril Rodríguez, and Lupita Valdez was established in Portugal during the Zapatista Movement’s Journey for Life (Gira per La Vida) in 2021 and since then have organized various artistic and activist projects with International networks between Europe and Latin Americas.
