Dieses Konzert ist die einzige Österreich-Show der aktuellen Tour. \nSeit über einem Jahrzehnt stehen PRIMITIVE MAN an der radikalsten Front des Underground: extrem verlangsamter Doom\, überwältigende Lautstärke und eine emotionale Wucht\, die weniger unterhält als vielmehr konfrontiert. Observance treibt diesen Ansatz konsequent weiter. Die sechs Stücke des Albums sind dicht\, tranceartig und gnadenlos fokussiert – Musik als körperliche Erfahrung. \nInhaltlich seziert Sänger und Gitarrist Ethan Lee McCarthy persönliche wie gesellschaftliche Bruchstellen: soziale Verwahrlosung\, techno-feudale Machtverhältnisse\, die Erosion von Menschenrechten und ein zerfallender Gesellschaftsvertrag. Inspiriert u. a. von den Texten Tongo Eisen-Martins (Blood on the Fog)\, liefert McCarthy keine Antworten\, sondern legt Erfahrungen offen – schonungslos nach außen wie nach innen. \nNeu ist dabei eine spürbare Traurigkeit\, die sich tief in den Sound eingeschrieben hat. Paradoxerweise beschreibt die Band Observance dennoch als ihr bislang „positivstes“ Album: Inmitten von Desillusionierung und Zerstörung bleibt der Wille\, einen Ausweg zu suchen. DESCRIPTION:HUGO RACE FATALISTS (AUS / IT)\n\nHugo Race returns after highly successful collaborative albums with Michelangelo Russo (100 Years)\, The Church frontman Steve Kilbey (Speed of the Stars) and Gianni Maraccolo (The Vigil\, winner of the prestigious Premio Ciampi) with I Made It All Up For You\, an epic album with his Italian band Fatalists – existential songwriting framed by the band’s signature fusion of roots music\, electronica\, Italian soundtracks and desert rock.\n\n\n“In his 40-year career\, Hugo Race has lived a thousand lives and played the role of songwriter\, producer\, musician\, performer\, head of a record label (Helixed). His music went from folk to lounge\, from „trance industrial blues“ to psychedelia\, from world music to electronics. Starting from post-punk Melbourne in the 1980s\, he took fascinating paths that led him from Africa to Turkey\, from Berlin to Romagna…”\n“I wanted to create something melodic and beautiful in defiance of our current reality. The songs started as bare acoustic sketches written in a remote mountain cabin in Italy where I had two weeks off during a solo tour. The weather turned into a raging blizzard\, the days a struggle to keep the wood fire lit and the smoke out of the house. I wrote about twelve songs\, threw them all away\, started again with an unplugged electric guitar in front of that damp fire\, searching for the album’s theme. When the smoke cleared\, I was at the crossroads of a long term relationship unraveling under a blazing antipodean sun. Fatalists recorded the basic tracks at the floating studio on the Puccini lake an hour out of Florence – Giovanni Ferrario (Scisma\, PJ Harvey) on guitars and synth\, Francesco Giampaoli (Brutture Moderne) on bass and Diego Sapignoli (Sacri Cuori) on percussion. Violinist Massimiliano Gallo met me in Sicily for a short tour to learn the new songs\, adding layers of his Calabrian magic to the mix. Jennifer Charles (singer of New York band Elysian Fields) and I had been talking for a long time about making new music and this was the occasion when we made it happen. Jennifer’s distinctive voice graces this album on the songs I Collide and Broken Love\, the lyrics of which were written by author and designer Alannah Hill. My longtime road brother Michelangelo Russo also dusts the tracks with his otherworldly electric harmonica on Against The World\, Born To Fly and Open Field. A lot of joy and pain and reflection went into the making of this album and I hope that comes across; this is about the darkness yes\, but also the light. Everything changes and every ending is a new beginning but it’s how we experience transformation that really matters. I hope you love this album. DESCRIPTION:Der in Berlin lebende\, irische Songwriter A.S. Fanning verbindet einen Kern aus introspektivem Folk mit der Wucht und Breite von Rock\, Wave und psychedelischem Pop. Seine Themen sind selten optimistisch – Vergänglichkeit\, die fragile Beschaffenheit unserer Realität\, allgemeines Unbehagen über viele Aspekte unsere Gegenwart – aber sein markanter Bariton und eine virtuose Band kleiden sie in unheimlich schöne\, dichte Klanglandschaften. \nSein letztes Album „Mushroom Cloud“ (2023) erhielt europaweit viel Aufmerksamkeit und festigte seinen Ruf als einer der faszinierendsten Songwriter Irlands. Die Presse sah das furchtlose Songwriting auf „Mushroom Cloud“ als einen Meilenstein seiner Karriere und zog Vergleiche zu Größen wie Leonard Cohen und Scott Walker. Fanning wurde unter anderem vom Far Out Magazine als Songwriter of the Year 2023 und für die Best Lyrics of 2023 ausgezeichnet. Gemeinsam mit seiner Band spielte er Konzerte für den WDR Rockpalast und Deutschlandfunk „On Stage“\, begleitet von umfangreichen Tourneen durch Deutschland\,Großbritannien\, Skandinavien\, die Niederlande und Frankreich. \nFür sein viertes Soloalbum „Take Me Back To Nowhere“ (VÖ 06.02.2026) arbeitete Fanning erneut mit Produzenten und Tontechniker Robbie Moore zusammen. Aufgenommen wurde das Album im Studio Idea Farm\, einem abgelegenen\, umfunktionierten Bauernhof in Südschweden\, an dessen Ausbau Fanning in den letzten Jahren selbst häufiger mitgewirkt hatte. \nDer Entstehungsprozess des Albums war offener und experimenteller als bei seinen Vorgängern. Die neuen Songs entstanden gemeinsam mit seiner internationalen Liveband: Bernardo Sousa (E-Gitarre)\, Dave Adams (Orgel\, Synthesizer\, Klavier)\, Fred Sunesen (Schlagzeug) und Felix Buchner (Bass). Als Gastmusikerin steuerte Marta Zapparoli atmosphärische Klangtexturen bei.

DESCRIPTION:Ryosuke Kiyasu began his career as a snare drummer in Canada in 2003. A driving force in the avant-garde music scene for over two decades\, he has been a prolific solo performer while also contributing to the group SETE STAR SEPT and having served as the drummer for Keiji Haino’s legendary ensemble\, Fushitsusha. \nIn 2018\, a video of his live performance in Berlin went viral\, garnering over 23 million views and sparking global conversation. This phenomenon led to features in major international media outlets\, including BBC News and VICE. More recently\, his unique performance style was highlighted in the British fashion magazine i-D\, further cementing his influence across both music and contemporary culture. \nHis work has earned high acclaim within the world of classical percussion\, leading to his invitation as a main guest for two consecutive editions of Germany’s Überschlag Festival\, one of the world’s largest biennial percussion festivals. In 2025\, a dedicated experimental music festival titled „Kiyasu Fest“ was organized by local fans in Bristol\, UK\, in his honor. \nFrom 2026\, Kiyasu has been appointed for a global promotion with Pearl Drums\, the world’s leading drum manufacturer\, serving as a key figure in the brand’s major international campaigns. \nBeyond traditional musical boundaries\, he has expanded his reach through collaborations with the fashion label Our Legacy and performances in contemporary art contexts. Auf Basis eines Handzeichenvokabulars (für grundlegende Parameter wie Dynamik\, Tonhöhe\, Go\, Stop\, Solo\,..) entstehen\, im Oszillieren von strukturgebendem ad hoc Dirigat und Ensembleimprovisation\, Momentkompositionen. Instant composition conducting\, das auf Butch Morris‘ Methode des Handzeichen-Dirigats Conduction basiert\, wurde von Michael Fischer zu einer\, bestimmten Prinzipien folgenden Praxis entwickelt:\n1. absolute ad hoc Kreation – vonseiten des Ensembles wie des conductors\, keine vorbereiteten oder vereinbarten Module/Designs\, 2. keine Proben\, nur ein kurzes try-out der Handzeichen vor Konzertbeginn\, 3. die Musiker:innen werden nach Instrumenten gruppiert\, 4. nur wenige (ca. 20) Handzeichen werden verwendet\, die 5. sparsam eingesetzt werden\, 6. die Instant compositions haben lange\, narrative Verläufe von 35 – 50 Minuten und\, 7. jedes Konzert weist eine neue Ensemblekonstellation auf und bezieht meist zusätzlich zumindest eine:n neue:n Musiker:in ein. \nBisher waren (in seit jeher genderparitätisch orientierten Besetzungen) etwa 200 Musiker:innen (aus ca. 30 Ländern) der Frei improvisierten Musik\, des Jazz\, der Elektronik\, der Neuen Musik\, sowie Schriftsteller:innen der experimentellen Literatur involviert. \nDas VIO war zu Gast beim legendären Moers-Festival für Jazz und Improvisierte Musik (D) – wo sein Konzert in der bis zum letzten Platz besetzten Festivalhalle mit minutenlangen Standing Ovations akklamiert wurde\, bei Wien Modern (2020\, 2025)\, beim Music Unlimited Festival\, beim Artacts-Festival für Improvisierte Musik und Jazz\, im Porgy & Bess\, im Brut Wien\, im Rahmen der Klima Biennale Wien\, an zentralen Orten der bildenden Kunst wie Belvedere21\, Künstlerhaus Wien\, Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab/Die Angewandte Wien\, Vienna Art Week Festival u.v.a.. \nMICHAEL FISCHER\, Instant composition conductor und art.dir./VIO\, arbeitet an der Sprachimmanenz von Klängen und deren dramatischer Evidenz am Tenorsaxophon und am von ihm entwickelten Feedback-Saxophone\, sowie an Soundscapes/fixed media Kompositionen in Kooperationen mit Schriftsteller:innen experimenteller Literatur.
